Why Cambridge English?
Learning a foreign language is an essential skill for today’s international employment market. It enhances career prospects and improves opportunities to work for international organisations, both at home and abroad.
Governments are increasingly investing in the teaching of English in schools to improve the employment prospects of generations of young people. Cambridge English Consultancy Services can support this process with a complete range of expert services. We can:
When the French Ministry of National Education launched a scheme to introduce international language assessment into state schools, Cambridge English Language Assessment was awarded the contract to provide the language tests following a tendering process.
We designed a test especially for French school students that would assess language ability at two levels. The Cambridge English Certificate is now taken by students in their final year of mandatory schooling.
The scheme is part of a nationwide project to improve French school-leavers’ second language ability and to assess that ability within an international framework.
The French government has recently extended its contract with us to continue to develop the project for a further four years, and discussions are under way to further extend the project by introducing a third test at a higher level.
