The Chilean Ministry of Education launched a national project, ‘English Opens Doors’, to improve levels of English in Chile. Cambridge English Language Assessment was chosen over other international testing organisations to evaluate the current English language competence of state school students.
We produced a diagnostic test based on assessment material which had been extensively trialed and validated throughout the world. Because of our global network, we used a local partner in Chile to deliver the test to 12,000 students.
The resulting diagnostics were used to make necessary adjustments to the curriculum, teacher development and future English language assessment in Chile.
