Why Cambridge English?
Cambridge English exams provide detailed, meaningful results. You can use this page to find out more about the Statement of Results, how to download your students’ results, accessing grade statistics, and how employers and universities can verify your students’ results.
You can download your students’ results, including your archived results, using our Online Results Service. If you’re having trouble accessing results online, contact your authorised exam centre.
All candidates receive a Statement of Results, and if they are successful in the exam they will also receive a certificate.
Statements of Results are released online, approximately four to six weeks after the exam for paper-based exams, and two to three weeks after the exam for computer-based exams. The majority of your students’ results will be available at the start of the release window, with any outstanding results being released in the days following.
The fastest way for your students to get their results is by registering for our free Online Results Service, using the Candidate ID Number and the Secret Number on their Confirmation of Entry. As soon as their result is available, they will receive a notification email.
Employers, universities or other organisations can use the online Results Verification Service to check your students’ results quickly, easily and securely.
Your students must send them their Candidate ID and Secret Number (printed on their Confirmation of Entry).
From January 2015 we started using a new way of reporting results for our exams to provide you with more detailed information about exam performance – the Cambridge English Scale.
The Cambridge English Scale is a range of scores used for reporting the results of Cambridge English exams. It is built on our existing results reporting and years of research, and is designed to complement the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Cambridge English exams provide institutions with meaningful, detailed results for applicants. Our in-depth exams encourage learners to develop their language skills. They provide a reliable indicator of language ability, reducing the risk that students’ English does not match expectations. They help colleges and universities to be sure of a student’s English language skills.
We have developed a guide to understanding results for our exams, designed for use by further and higher education institutions. It includes information about Cambridge English: First, Advanced and Proficiency.
Grade statistics give the average percentages in each grade for all sessions of a particular exam by country or territory.
This information is helpful to teachers who want to understand how students perform in a test in their country or region.
