Students from primary and secondary schools went head to head in the first round of the Kangourou English competition. The competition was a chance for them to showcase their English language skills and in the first round they were tested on their reading skills, in a test specially developed by Cambridge English.
Sarah Ellis, Head of Assessment Services, Southern Europe at Cambridge English said: ‘The Kangourou English competition is a very effective way of motivating students. Students are enthusiastic about taking part in the competition and successful candidates will have the added bonus of being awarded a Cambridge English certificate’.
In May, the 40 finalists will have the chance to sit a Cambridge English exam. In last year’s edition of the Kangourou competition, almost all finalists became proud holders of a Cambridge English certificate. The competition is organised by the SIGMA publishing house, IDEA and Cambridge English.
