10,000 students from over 500 secondary schools in Poland are taking part in a national English writing competition later this month. WRITE ON has been organised by Cambridge English and has backing from the Polish Ministry of Education. The competition aims to encourage more students to improve their writing skills in English.
Adam Maciaszczyk from Cambridge English said: ‘Polish students take their English studies really seriously so we’re expecting WRITE ON to be highly competitive. The competition is fun and creative way to get students writing in English. Teachers will also be getting involved by motivating their students and offering guidance and constructive feedback.’
One of the key highlights of WRITE ON will be The National Day of Writing in English on 19 November 2015, when nearly 10,000 secondary school pupils in over 500 schools across Poland will go head to head by writing a story. Their task will be taken from a sample paper from Cambridge English: First for Schools.
