Planning to study in the UK? Cambridge English exams can help.
The UK Home Office has made some important changes to student visa applications. Find out how these changes could affect you.
Applying to study at below degree level
If you’re planning to study at below degree level, and you need to apply for a Tier 4 visa, you’ll need to take an English language test on the UK Visas and Immigration’s (UKVI) list of Secure English Language Tests (SELTs). The number of SELTs that can be used for a visa application has been reduced and *IELTS was chosen as one of only two providers.

Applying to study at degree level and above
Almost all UK universities and colleges are on the UK Visas and Immigration’s (UKVI) list of Tier 4 Sponsors. This means that they can decide which exams to accept as proof of English language ability.
Most UK universities and colleges accept C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency as well as IELTS.
Check if the university you’re applying to is a Tier 4 Sponsor and contact them directly to find out which English qualifications they accept.
