Dr Daniel Brooker leads the business development strategy for our consultancy services. In his role he advises and develops solutions for ministries, universities, schools and employers to improve English education standards.
He has led English education projects in the areas of language strategy, benchmarking, curriculum development and teacher development for Cambridge English clients. He is a published author and presents at conferences around the world on research interests related to language education strategy and the interrelations between language and socio-economic development. In his work he brings a nuanced understanding of international education policy, practice and research, working with clients to deliver a sustainable, quality-focused approach.
Prior to joining Cambridge English, he worked in academia for universities in the UK and Asia and for the RAND Corporation public policy think tank. He has undertaken a range of research and policy consultancy assignments for governments and government agencies in the UK (HEFCE, Government departments, ESRC) and internationally (DFID, World Bank, European Commission).
Daniel is a certified Prince 2 Practitioner, a certified product owner and a member of the Institute for Customer Service. Daniel holds a PhD from the University of Durham, UK, a Master’s degree in Research Methods and a First Class degree in Geography. He has worked globally and speaks Mandarin Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia.
