Rosalía Valero
Strategic Development Head, Americas
Rosalía is based in Mexico and manages education transformation activity in the Americas, working with ministries of education and educational institutions throughout the region.
Rosalía’s expertise lies in English language teaching and training, professional development, and English language teaching management. She is an active member of the Education Group of the British Chamber of Commerce in Mexico, as well as the UK/Mexico Education Strategy External Advisory Board managed by the British Embassy.
Rosalía presents regularly at conferences in various countries. Her main professional interests also include assessment, the digital educator, lexicography, and gender issues. She enjoys writing and often contributes to several blogs on teaching English, particularly writing about raising bilingual children, using her own experience with her son.
Prior to joining Cambridge English, Rosalía worked as an educator, trainer, and educational services manager.
Rosalía holds an MSc in English Teaching from the University of Aston.
Recent projects
- Rosalía supports the Ministry of Education in Mexico with their National Programme for English in Basic Education (PNIEB). This programme has included the English language benchmarking of students and teachers, as well as pedagogical skills for teachers. You can watch Rosalía talk about the impact of the programme here.
- Rosalía works with the Panamanian Ministry of Education on a teacher development programme as part of Panamá Bilingüe Project, which aims to raise national standards of English language teaching, and to increase the number of English teachers working in schools. Read more about the project here.
- As part of its National Bilingual Project, the Colombian government has used a comprehensive programme of consultancy services from Cambridge English including benchmarking, tailored assessment, teacher development and capacity building.
