English teachers in Latin America who are faced with the challenge of finding the professional development resources and support are benefitting from Pathfinder - a new online resource from Cambridge.
Cambridge Assessment English has designed Pathfinder to give English teachers fast access to the online resources they need to develop their skills and help their students learn English. Cambridge says the idea is to give teachers a helping hand with the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.
Pathfinder is available to teachers who prepare students for Cambridge English Qualifications or use Cambridge University Press exams publishing materials. Teachers using Pathfinder complete a short quiz on their individual scenario, challenges and aims and they are presented with a recommended path and a list of free resources. The resources come from a bank of more than 500 free Cambridge English materials in a range of categories including lesson plans, games and apps, how to give effective feedback, wellbeing, working with parents and how to engage students.
‘Since 2020 English teachers in Latin America have faced many restrictions in the classroom and finding the right resources and support remains a big challenge.’ Said Piri Szabo, Commercial Director for the Americas at Cambridge Assessment English. She continued: ‘We’ve designed Pathfinder, so it gives teachers a helping hand by providing them with really fast access to the right resources they need to make a difference. Pathfinder draws on a bank of hundreds of tried and tested resources from experts in Cambridge to give teachers the support they need for the months ahead.’
Teachers who use Pathfinder will be able to download a certificate of completion for each category and take advantage of a digital badge feature for their social media profiles.
