Overview:
This webinar is aimed at teachers who are, or will be, preparing candidates for Cambridge English: Young Learners tests. The aim of the session is to give practical ideas and activities to support teachers across all of the young learners tests. The presenter will focus on how to improve young learners’ English focusing on areas such as motivation, study and exam tips. The webinar will then look at some practical activities to do with young learners, using games and other support materials provided by Cambridge Assessment English.

Dr Miranda Hamilton, Cambridge Assessment English Consultant
Miranda has been working with Cambridge Assessment English since 2010 on the research and development of the concept of Learning Oriented Assessment. She completed her PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2010 on learner autonomy, foreign language learning in a virtual learning environment and blended learning. Her PhD thesis was published by Bloomsbury in April 2013. She taught English as foreign language for many years at a leading language school in the UK, and has also taught in Spain.
Jason Street, Assessment Manager, Cambridge Assessment English
Jason worked as a teacher in state secondary and private language schools in the UK and Italy for 20 years, before joining Cambridge Assessment English in 2004. He has a particular interest in the testing of spoken English and has managed the production of Cambridge English: Young Learners Speaking tests since 2008. He lives in a small village just outside Cambridge with his wife, three children and a cat. In his spare time, he enjoys choral singing, painting and learning languages.
