People applying for a Chevening Scholarship, an international awards scheme run by the UK Government, can now use Cambridge English: Advanced as proof of their English language ability.
The Chevening awards are funded primarily by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and are designed to support the development of future global leaders. The awards offer academically strong young professionals from around the world the opportunity to study for a postgraduate degree in the UK.
A key requirement for applicants is to provide evidence of their English language ability and the inclusion of Cambridge English: Advanced in the list of accepted qualifications offers scholarship applicants more ways to meet this requirement. Chevening already recognise the IELTS* test, which is also produced by Cambridge Assessment English. The addition of Cambridge English: Advanced is evidence of its reputation as proof of the high level English skills required to study, work and live in an English speaking country.
Rachel Keogh from Cambridge English said: ‘Cambridge English: Advanced is already accepted by universities in the UK as proof of English language ability at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The secure and in-depth exam helps learners to improve their level of English and is globally available. This makes it a great option for anyone thinking about applying for a Chevening scholarship’.
*IELTS is jointly owned and managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.
