Cambridge English has achieved the new version of ISO 9001, the world's most recognised quality management standard – for their approach to designing and delivering English language examinations around the world.
Cambridge English has held ISO 9001 for nine years and the updated 2015 version of the standard focusses on customer focus, continual improvement, risk & opportunity management, process approach and leadership. Earlier in the year BSI assessed Cambridge English by looking at how they manage these key processes. As a result Cambridge English has been awarded the standard by meeting the strict criteria.
Nick Beresford-Knox who led the project for Cambridge English said: ‘The customer focus in the new standard is significant to us because customers are very much at the heart of everything we do. Our customers are spread all over the world and they rely on Cambridge English exams for what are often life-changing opportunities. We’re now looking at how we can keep up these high standards so we can continue to meet the varying needs of our customers around the world’.
The Cambridge English story began in 1913 when three candidates in the UK took the first Cambridge English exam. Today the exams are taken by more than five million people every year and are recognised by over 25,000 organisations around the world. Last year the organisation also achieved the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.
