Foon Yew High School in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, is using Cambridge Assessment English's CELT-S qualification to build the skills and confidence of its English teachers. Foon Yew High School, set up in 1913, is the largest Chinese independent school in the country in terms of both students and campus size, with over 10,000 students. The school's principal, Tee Bee Tin, signed a memorandum of understanding with authorised Cambridge English centre GPEX. Hamidi Halim from Cambridge Assessment English and Kanjna Paranthaman from Cambridge University Press attended the signing.
