Talent Beyond Borders: The Global Impact of International Graduates looks at the impact of international students beyond graduation. It is based on the largest global data set of its kind, combined with real stories of exceptional graduates making a difference in their home countries and abroad.
Studyportals and Cambridge University Press & Assessment have launched Talent Beyond Borders, a partnership aimed at changing the narrative around international education. The project will produce an annual report on international graduate impact. This report combines large-scale graduate employment data with in-depth alumni stories to give a snapshot into what students go on to achieve after studying abroad. The research is built on Studyportals’ global graduate employment dataset, which tracks over 1.1 million graduates since 2018, including more than 545,000 international graduates. It is the only dataset of its kind at this scale.
The value of international education extends far beyond tuition revenue. Talent Beyond Borders changes the narrative by putting people, talent outcomes, and long-term contribution at the centre.
We know more about where students choose to study than almost any organisation in the world. But the question we kept coming back to was: then what? Talent Beyond Borders is our answer to that. For the first time, we can show—at scale, across borders and disciplines—what international graduates go on to do and contribute. That changes the conversation the sector has been trying to have for years. — Edwin van Rest, CEO, Studyportals
I’m excited about what our collaboration with Studyportals will reveal. We know about the positive impact that international students have on their chosen destinations. We also know that the experience of studying abroad can be transformational for many of those students. This study will provide us with concrete evidence about their professional journeys after their student experience. — Pamela Baxter, Managing Director, Cambridge University Press & Assessment
