The Medical University of Gdańsk in Poland is now accepting results from the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) for students applying to study their English-taught, 6-year Doctor of Medicine programme. The university joins a growing list of medical schools across Poland who are already accepting BMAT.
BMAT was developed by Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing, part of the University of Cambridge. It is used by universities around the world to select applicants for Medical, Dental, Veterinary and Biomedical courses. It tests key skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and application of scientific knowledge that are crucial for success on an academically demanding, science-based degree.
‘We’re seeing lots of demand for BMAT in Poland which is good news for students and universities,’ said Andy Chamberlain, Head of Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing. ‘BMAT is becoming an essential tool for student recruitment in the higher education sector and we’re delighted that the Medical University of Gdańsk has joined a growing list of Polish universities that accept the test. The test is a really great tool for helping universities make fair decisions as it gives them the single point of information they need to make important recruitment decisions. It’s also really good news for students as having a BMAT can help them stand out from the crowd.’
BMAT was established in 2003 and was originally used by three universities in the UK. It’s now used by more than 30 universities, in 15 countries including Poland, the Netherlands, Italy and Thailand.
Students applying to the university can take the test in February 2021 at authorised test centres around the world. Full details on how to prepare for and take the test can be found here.
