Did you know that...

Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers and A2 Flyers is a series of English tests, produced by Cambridge English for young children from 6 to 12 years old. They are fun, interactive, colourful and activity-based and help thousands of children around the world learn English.

Lay solid foundations in learning English

Preparing for the tests can help young learners to develop real-life communication skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and build a solid foundation in their English learning journey, all the way up to C2 Proficiency.

Build confidence with clear learning goals

The tests are based on four skills with face-to-face speaking and are designed to help young learners to develop their interest in English and have a positive impact on learning.

Celebrate young learners’ progress and achievements

There’s no pass or fail – every child gets a Cambridge English certificate which shows how many shields they have received (out of a maximum of five) for each part of the test and celebrates their achievements. They are a celebration of what children can do.

We have put together a variety of teaching resources for you to download and use in your classes, in order to successfully prepare your young students for the Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers & A2 Flyers tests.

Moreover, you will find resources for parents and learners to use at home (ex. our new Minecraft game), as well as tools and tips on how to communicate to parents the value of assessment at a young age and discuss their child's progression based on the results of the tests.

When you register students for our exams, your school becomes a Cambridge English preparation centre and you’ll get access to more exam preparation support as well as promotional materials for your school.
