From 8th October, the Linguaskill Writing module will change from one essay or report to two tasks; an email and an essay or a report. This change affects both Linguaskill and Linguaskill Business.
Why are we making this change?
Fairer and more accurate -By assessing both essays or reports and emails, we get a more complete picture of your ability.
Real-world relevance – Most written workplace communication is done via email, so this new task will help prepare you for everyday life, study or work scenarios.
More ways to show your skills - Learners often perform better when they can demonstrate a range of writing styles.
Balanced and manageable - Each task is more focused, helping you plan your writing more easily and reduce stress during the test.
What’s in the Writing module?
The Writing module asks candidates to input answers using a computer keyboard. Answers are marked by an examiner. Results for the Writing module will be released within 3–5 working days.
The Writing test comprises of two tasks. Candidates have 55 minutes to write their response.
Part one is worth 25% of the final score; part two is worth 75%.
