The US government has recognised selected Cambridge English exams as proof of English language ability for healthcare professionals coming to work in the US.
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has approved the recognition for Cambridge which applies to all categories of healthcare workers. As a result the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) – a Federal agency responsible for healthcare – has updated its list of tests and scores for foreign healthcare workers. It now includes Cambridge’s B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency.
‘This is a huge boost for healthcare professionals who want to work in the US,’ said Pete Novak, Country Manager for US and Canada at Cambridge English. ‘We develop the Cambridge English qualifications so they cover real-life communication skills. This means that professionals who have a Cambridge English exam can be confident in their language ability in a range of scenarios which will help them to play an essential role in the US healthcare sector.’
The B2 First qualification proves candidates have the language skills to live and work independently in an English-speaking country or study on courses taught in English. It is accepted by thousands of businesses and educational institutions worldwide.
C1 Advanced is an in-depth, high-level qualification that shows people have the language skills that employers and universities are looking for. Preparing for C1 Advanced helps learners develop the skills to make the most of studying, working and living in English-speaking countries.
C2 proficiency is the highest-level qualification from Cambridge which proves people are highly competent speakers of English. A C2 Proficiency qualification shows the world that you have mastered English to an exceptional level. It proves you can communicate with the fluency and sophistication of a highly competent English speaker.
Cambridge English exams are recognised by over 25,000 universities, employers and governments around the world. Our English language tests open doors to higher education, improve employment opportunities, and because they are globally recognised, increase your choices for study or work.
