A department of Cambridge University and Taiwan’s Language Training and Testing Centre (LTTC) are discussing opportunities for a new project which will focus on English language learning in state schools across Taiwan.
Cambridge Assessment English and the LTTC are looking into developing and promoting English language learning and assessment materials for children across Taiwan.
“We’ve been working together a long time and it’s really exciting to be focusing on this new project which will benefit students in state schools across Taiwan,” said Angela Wright from Cambridge Assessment English. “It’s early days but we’re currently working out the best ways of ensuring students learning English get the best possible opportunities for developing their skills.”
Professor Hsien-hao Liao, Executive Director, the Language Training and Testing Center said:
“This project will complement and solidify the relationship which we established in 2004. In particular, it will enable us to explore further collaborations on the development and delivery of English language examinations for Taiwanese learners.”
LTTC is a non-governmental educational foundation with a remit to meet the needs of social and economic development through research, development and administration in language training and testing. It is also an authorised Cambridge English exam centre offering a range of Cambridge English exams including Cambridge English: Young Learners and BULATS. The two organisations have been working together for several years on delivering exams and carrying out research. This includes a joint research project which compared Cambridge English: Young Learners to the national curriculum in Taiwan http://www.cambridgeenglish.org/images/24696-research-notes-46-document.pdf.
