A new programme, which is open to non-US citizens, will allow students who hold selected Cambridge English Qualifications to apply for discounts and a range of scholarships.
As part of the new collaboration, students with a Cambridge English B1 Preliminary, B2 First or above who are applying to a Shorelight programme will be eligible for a range of discounts and scholarships. The collaboration introduces merit scholarships of up to $20,000 for students applying to selected universities. There is also the chance for students to apply for a single high value scholarship of $140,000.
‘It’s fantastic to be collaborating with Shorelight on this important programme which will have such a positive impact on students planning to study in the US’, commented Pete Novak, Country Manager US & Canada at Cambridge English. He continued: ‘The US remains a popular study destination for students from all over the world. Some of the biggest concerns for students studying in the US are affordability of studying abroad and the English language communications challenges. By offering these scholarships and discounts to learners we can help relieve some of this financial pressure. We can also reassure students that a Cambridge English Qualification gives them the communication skills they need to cope with academic life.’
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Shorelight Tom Dretler said, “We support thousands of students each year to make their dreams of studying in the US a reality. The ability to communicate in English is crucial to having a successful experience of higher education in the US, so we are offering holders of Cambridge English Qualifications the opportunity to apply for a range of scholarships at our universities. Students applying through Shorelight have access to over 3,000 degree programs at top universities across the US, and we hope that these scholarships and discounts will open up more opportunities and choices for international students.”
Cambridge English develops the Cambridge English Qualifications. This includes B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency. More than 25,000 organisations in 130 countries around the world rely on our secure exams and tests as proof of English language ability.
