Experts will discuss the potential impact of Brexit on the UK higher education sector at an online event hosted by a department of Cambridge University. Leading the way in international admissions and recruitment: Europe and the UK will be hosted by Cambridge Assessment English in association with UK NARIC, the UK's agency for recognising international qualifications and skills. It’s the sixth event in the calendar for this important annual event.
The event will look at how Brexit will impact international admissions and recruitment of students at UK universities. It will bring together policymakers and representatives from universities including heads of admissions, study abroad managers and international recruitment managers. The packed agenda will include contributions with the latest thinking from Universities UK, UK NARIC, UCAS and UKCISA. Cambridge Assessment English works in the higher education sector by delivering in-depth qualifications that are taken by hundreds of thousands of students every year to prove their English language ability. Cambridge English exams are accepted by almost all universities in the United Kingdom.
‘This year has been a really challenging year for the whole education sector, and Brexit is likely to throw up new complications,’ said Petra Olsson, Regional Recognition Manager for Europe. She continued: ‘The event will be a great chance to bring together experts to discuss how the sector can address these challenges.'
The seminar will be chaired by Chris Lyons from UK NARIC.
Anne-May Janssen from the Universities UK International will open the event with an update on Brexit negotiations. Mark Wilson from UCAS will present the latest European Trends in the higher education sector. Other speakers include Vangelis Tsiligiris, from Nottingham Trent University who will look at the potential impact of Brexit on UK higher education provision in the EU.
Deepa Chadha, UKCISA will also give an immigration update.
