What is this webinar about?
In the age of artificial intelligence, will students still be taught to write essays in 10 years? What can AI offer? What are its biggest pitfalls? Using practical examples from Cambridge coursebooks, we will explore how best to integrate AI into writing instruction and how to support and inspire developing writers.
Presenters
Evelina Galaczi
Dr. Evelina Galaczi leads a dynamic team of experts in language learning, teaching and assessment, driving research and innovation to support millions of English learners worldwide. Her team at Cambridge collaborates with global experts to ensure high-quality learning materials, assessments, and thought leadership for educators, learners, and policymakers.
With over 30 years in language education, Evelina has served as a teacher, trainer, researcher, and assessment specialist. Her expertise centers on speaking assessment, interactional competence, test development, and AI in language education. She holds a Master’s and Doctorate in Applied Linguistics from Columbia University and is internationally recognized for her contributions. She is also Associate Co-Editor of Language Assessment Quarterly and Board Trustee at TIRF.
Ana Clara Petersen
Ana is a passionate language educator based in Florida. With extensive experience teaching primary and secondary students, she designs engaging, communication-focused lessons that bring coursebooks to life and connect learning to real-world contexts. Ana has taught in a variety of contexts and leads her own online school in Brazil. She takes great pleasure in preparing students for Cambridge English exams and in exploring emerging technologies—especially AI—to enhance instruction, spark curiosity, and deliver memorable learning experiences to students. Ana blends structured instruction with creativity while preparing learners to thrive in a global, tech-forward world.
