Dr Brigita Séguis
Head of Impact Evaluation
Dr Brigita Séguis is an expert in education research and impact evaluation at Cambridge University Press & Assessment. She specialises in designing and leading large-scale research and evaluation programmes that generate evidence to inform educational policy, product innovation, and classroom practice. Her work spans English language learning and assessment, bilingual education, education reform, teacher professional development, and the integration of technology and digital pedagogies.
Brigita has led complex multi-country evaluation and research projects across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, collaborating with ministries of education, NGOs, universities, and school networks in countries including Spain, France, the United States, the UAE, Japan, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Kenya, Thailand, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan. Her work has covered diverse educational contexts, including early years, primary and secondary education, higher education, workplace learning, and education in emergency settings.
As Head of Impact Evaluation, Brigita leads the organisation’s impact evaluation strategy and oversees a specialist team delivering quantitative and qualitative evaluations to support policy development, education reform, product innovation, and evidence-informed decision-making. Her role includes providing methodological leadership, strategic oversight, and quality assurance across complex international evaluation initiatives. She also serves on the Advisory Group to the Cambridge English Board.
Brigita is an established scholar with a strong track record of publications, conference presentations, and international engagement. She has reviewed for leading journals in applied linguistics and education research and has delivered over 100 plenary talks, workshops, and presentations for academic and professional audiences worldwide. She holds a DPhil in Linguistics from the University of Oxford and speaks six languages.
