The Ministry of Education in Moldova has officially recognised a range of Cambridge English exams as proof of English language ability. The recognition was officially approved by the Comisiei Naţionale de Examene (National Exams Committee) at the Ministry on 20 March.
Under the new rules, students who have passed Cambridge English: First, Advanced, Proficiency or an IELTS test will gain an exemption from the high school baccalaureate. Students will be given a grade 10 in the Baccalaureate exam if they have passed a recognised English language proficiency exam at CEFR Level B2 or above.
The Ministry of Education in Moldova joins other ministries of education who already offer exemptions to Cambridge English certificate holders, including the ministries of education in Romania, Lithuania and Slovakia. Cambridge English exams are now recognised by 25,000 institutions and organisations around the world.
