Meet the people behind our work developing high-quality English language education

We are a dedicated consultancy team whose goal is to help people learn English and prove their skills to the world. We bring a range of expertise in English language teaching, learning and assessment combined with experience in programme and project management to deliver positive educational impact and lasting benefits for our clients.

We have completed projects in over 50 countries around the world, across six continents. Our clients include schools, universities, employers and governments. We work with a range of clients, from individual institutions to international organisations and development agencies such as the European Commission, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the UK Department for International Development.

The team work with a range of technical experts across Cambridge Assessment English and with colleagues from the University of Cambridge, as well as our dedicated departments committed to quality and strategic alliance management.

Dr Hanan Khalifa

Dr Hanan Khalifa
Director, Education Transformation and Impact

Hanan leads a cross-divisional team of experts in the field of language learning, teaching and assessment on providing evidence-based decision making and transforming language education, working with ministries of education worldwide and developing strategic partnerships at a global level.

Graeme Harrison
Senior Education Manager

Graeme worked for many years in teaching and academic management all over the world, including Japan, Spain and Argentina, before moving into assessment at the University of Glasgow and later, Cambridge Assessment English. At Cambridge English, he has been involved in producing exams such as B2 First (formerly Cambridge English: First), IELTS, and the Cambridge English Placement Test.

Nisreen Ash
Senior Education Manager

Nisreen has worked closely with ministries and education institutions to support their wide-reaching education reform in various countries and contexts. Nisreen advises on and leads the implementation of reform programmes to support curriculum development and evaluation, assessment, capacity building and monitoring and evaluation.

Anna Greene
Head of Education Contracts Portfolio, Malaysia Programme Director

Anna leads the teams responsible for managing our projects with our high-profile clients, often ministries of education, universities or groups of schools. She is currently directing a five-year programme working with the Ministry of Education in Malaysia to support them reforming their complete English Language education system.

Steve Falgate
Education Contracts Manager

Steve is responsible for managing small- and medium-size projects with ministries of education and education institutions internationally. He is also responsible for the management of the project on a day to day basis throughout the project’s life span through to project close.

Lauren Haslam
Projects and Personal Assistant

Lauren supports the Director of Education Transformation and Alliances as well as supporting the wider Projects team.

Aya Aker

Aya Aker
Partnerships Development Manager

Aya is responsible for managing and developing strategic partnerships that serve organisational priorities and objectives. She also supports the regional offices on B2B and non-government project work such as bids, proposals, NDAs, MoUs, due diligence, and contracts, among other projects. 

Rosalía Valero
Strategic Development Head, Americas

Rosalía is based in Mexico and manages education transformation activity in the Americas, working with ministries of education and educational institutions throughout the region.

Alistair Starling
Strategic Development Head, Europe & North Africa

Alistair is based in Germany and leads the business-to-government efforts on the ground across Europe and North Africa in close liaison with the international Projects team in Cambridge. He was previously the Regional Director of Northern Europe in Berlin’s office.  Alistair is responsible for developing relationships with key education actors across Europe and North Africa.

Uyen Pham
Assessment Services Lead, ASEAN Australasia Japan and Korea

Uyen has 14 years working with Cambridge Assessment English on providing the best solutions to language benchmarking, assessment services, English language improvement and teacher development.
