The state of Aguascalientes in Mexico has introduced Cambridge English certificates in state schools – following a benchmarking project that has measured the skills of thousands of school students across Mexico. At a recent ceremony Carlos Lozano de la Torre, Governor of Aguascalientes, and Rafael Sánchez Majdich, from Cambridge English, presented certificates to over 500 students who took Cambridge English: Key, Preliminary and Young Learners as part of their school curriculum.
‘Aguascalientes is known for being a state of progress and this is reflected in their commitment to providing students with this excellent opportunity,’ commented Rafael Sánchez Majdich from Cambridge English.
Since 2011, the Ministry of Education in Aguascalientes has benchmarked thousands of students’ English language ability and have provided funding for students to take Cambridge English exams in the last two years. More students will take exams in 2015 following further benchmarking.
