Cambridge Assessment English is working with Treedom, an organisation based in Italy that allows individuals and other organisations to plant trees across four continents, to help tackle the environmental crisis.
The project is called Linguaskill Forest and aims at planting more than 400 trees that could cut up to 87,000 kg of CO2 throughout their lives and help 24 agricultural companies in four countries. The initiative launched in Italy and Spain, will achieve its mission with the help of candidates who will contribute to the cause by taking Linguaskill tests.
‘We’re very proud to be able to contribute to the environmental cause with this initiative. With the help of our students who will take the test in Italy and Spain, the Linguaskill Forest will grow and will help cut down the impact produced by the tests by simply planting trees. We are committed to provide a greener and healthier future for everyone.’
Treedom was founded in Florence, Italy, in 2010. Since then, the organisation has planted more than a million trees in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Europe. All these trees are cultivated and grown by local farmers. They contribute to the environmental cause and have a huge beneficial impact on the local economy and society. Through this project, Cambridge hopes to contribute to the environment and support agricultural education in the local communities.
Linguaskill is an online, adaptive test of English that delivers fast, detailed results aligned to the CEFR standard. Using artificial intelligence, the test adapts its questions to the individual user’s level, improving the experience and delivering swifter testing.
Cambridge Assessment has also recently submitted the first United Nations report on our commitment to sustainability.
