Representatives from nine Mexican English Language institutions joined the annual Cambridge Assessment Conference via a live satellite link on 15 October 2014. The 13 guests, alongside Cambridge English staff, participated in the International Education debate live from Mexico City. The conference took a close look at the role international education plays in maximising an individual’s opportunities to succeed in a global marketplace.
Colleagues from the Ministry of Education, Cambridge Assessment International Education and Instituto Politécnico Nacional joined 140 delegates live in Cambridge to discuss the conference theme International Education: Interpretation, importance and impact. The participants were representatives from projects conducted in collaboration with Cambridge English in Mexico.
Rafael Sánchez Majdich, Cambridge Assessment English’s Regional Director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, chaired the breakfast meeting in Mexico City. Rafael says ‘it was an excellent opportunity to support discussions in Cambridge with local context from Mexico. At present, educational institutions in Mexico are exploring ways of maximising their students’ opportunities to succeed in our global world, just like many other countries do. This made the event an important experience for everyone attending.’
