This webinar is for teachers who are preparing candidates, or going to prepare candidates, for the Cambridge English: First for Schools exam. Alongside discussing the skills assessed in the Cambridge English: First for Schools Speaking paper, this webinar will help teachers understand the assessment scales for speaking at B2. Finally, the presenter will suggest teaching ideas to practise the skills required for the Cambridge English: First for Schools Speaking paper.

Jill Buggey, Senior Presenter
Jill is a Senior Presenter for Cambridge Assessment English and has presented at various events for Cambridge, including IATEFL. She is the Professional Support Leader for the Speaking Tests in the UK, which means she is responsible for all the UK Speaking examiners for the whole range of General English and Business Exams. She is also a Senior Speaking and Writing examiner.
Her main interests are in Speaking and Writing assessment and she has participated in various research projects on assessing these skills. Apart from working as a consultant for Cambridge English, Jill is Director of Studies for a small English language training company in Cambridge.
She has been an English teacher in the UK, Greece and France and has a degree in European Studies and a post-graduate certificate in education.
Evelina Galaczi, Principal Research and Validation Manager, Cambridge Assessment English
Evelina is Principal Research and Validation Manager at Cambridge Assessment English. She has extensive experience as a researcher in language assessment and as an ESOL teacher, teacher-trainer and program administrator. Within Cambridge English, Evelina leads on research on speaking assessment. Her current research interests include issues in scale development and in speaking test formats, including computer-based formats, and their theoretical and practical implications. Evelina has published in assessment journals and academic volumes focusing on speaking assessment. She is a member of the Language Assessment Quarterly Editorial Advisory Board and is a co-ordinating committee member of the BAAL Testing, Evaluation and Assessment Special Interest Group.
